Lab laid bare

I've just finished reading Allegra Goodman’s darkly hilarious novel Intuition, set in a molecular biology lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the 1980’s.  Romance, betrayal, culture clashes, and shitweasel scheming lab chiefs are all there-- just like in real labs.  Most novels set in the world of science don't quite get it right.  Either the depiction of the social interactions or the physical surroundings are a bit off.  Goodman, to her credit, is spot on.   If you've worked in a lab, it will be so real it will spook you.  If you haven't, here's an opportunity to read about scientists acting badly, that is, like everyone else.
